Wysoki Kamień
Towering over Szklarska Poreba from the west is a peak 1,058 meters above sea level, located in the High Ridge of the Jizera Mountains. On the summit there are picturesque rocks. The summit offers one of the most magnificent panoramas in the Sudetes. From here you can see the Karkonosze, the Rudawy Janowickie, the Jizera Mountains and Foothills, the Kaczawskie Mountains and Foothills and the Jeleniogórska Basin.
Until 1963, a tourist hostel stood here. Currently, there is a small store and a buffet on the summit, and construction of a new hostel is underway. The hosts of Wysokie Kamień are the Gołb family from Szklarska Poreba. In the Middle Ages, the area was heavily exploited by the Walloons and described in legends.
The red trail (GSS) from Szklarska Poreba to Świeradów Zdrój and the yellow trail from Lower Szklarska Poreba through the Death Turn lead through "Wysoki Kamień".
Open seasonally. Offers tasty meals, souvenirs and drinks. No possibility of accommodation.
The hostel, as well as the observation tower located on the mountain, is being built with his own hands by a retired teacher from Szklarska Poreba - a mountain enthusiast.
An ideal place for a mountain hike. As the name suggests it is located quite high, but in return you can admire the beautiful panorama of Szklarska Poreba from the top.
